Founded in 2024 by the dynamic mother-daughter duo Laura Kissoon and Jolanta Kissoon Young, this lifestyle brand brings island vibes to life through vibrant runway showcases. Their signature event, Pan and Carnival on D Runway, merges high-fashion design with the spirited traditions of Trinidad and Tobago, celebrating creativity, storytelling, and cultural pride. Through the infectious rhythm of the Steel Pan and the magic of Carnival, Mum & Me Production creates a space where designers, performers, and enthusiasts connect, celebrate, and uplift heritage.
At the heart of the brand is co-founder and creative director Jolanta Kissoon Young, a visionary whose journey began with a degree in Mass Media Communication Studies from Metropolitan State University. Inspired by an innate creative lens, Jolanta ventured into fashion photography, capturing iconic moments for celebrated designers, brands, and personalities. Her work, showcased at exclusive events, weaves elegance and emotion into every frame.
Historical and cultural identity isn’t just about family. It’s about legacy. It’s about curiosity. It’s about connection.
Our story is rooted in the pan yard of Pandemonium Steel Orchestra, where Laura Kissoon and Lance Pollonais once played these instruments, guided by their father Lloyd Pollonais, a Carnival pioneer and collaborator of the legendary Carnival bandleader, Ken Morris. Meanwhile, James Kissoon, Jolanta’s father, brought stories to life through media production.
These legacies fuel our mission: to empower artists and entrepreneurs with mentorship, resources, and a platform to rise. From the runway to behind the scenes, we amplify voices that celebrate the richness of Caribbean culture.
